in like a lion

...and we're not talking about a crouching lion, or a sleeping lion. This is a roaring lion.

The wind is howling around the building, rattling the windows as it passes.

There is either rain or hail making a rat-a-tat-tat on the glass.

The lights are flickering.

A few minutes ago there was a flash of lightning in the distance.

And there is real thunder!

I love spring. I know it's not "officially" here yet, but it's coming. Thunderstorms, sunshine, the fresh smell of earth...and spring flowers!!

I snapped this picture in Luxembourg, on February 8.
I was bouncing up and down with excitement...
the Sergeant just rolled his eyes.

And now to you, my bloggy friends...thank you. Your response to Thursday's post was overwhelming; when I read the comments Friday morning (and the ones rolling in throughout the day) I was moved to tears. Just to be reminded that it will be okay, and that I am not alone... I don't have words to express my gratitude. I hope "thank you" can somehow be enough.

edited to add: About five minutes after I posted this everything stopped and the sun came out. So much for my beautiful storm. Oh well. I love sunshine too!! :)

  5. Thunderstorms! I can't wait! You can keep the wind, but a nice spring shower would be nice. Now all we have to do is...GET RID OF ALL THIS SNOW!!!!!!!!!!

  6. My favorite time of year isn't a season at all, it's simple the changing of the seasons. When new signs of an upcoming season appear the world seems so fresh and new! Imagine how boring it would be if we only had one season!

  7. Well, that means it goes out like a lamb:) We've got sunshine but wind - lots and lots of wind. I have a few clumps of daffodils that are just aching to bloom - you can see the bud at the top just about to burst. I can't wait!

  11. Spring! I love its arrival...

I didn't get to post below, but I wanted to add my voice to the others in support of you. I am amazed at how strong you are--and you'll have LM to keep you on your toes this time around...!

  13. Oh I love, love, love a good storm. You know, if I am snuggled at home with my family with no place to go.

  14. I love storms, and signs of spring, though they're a bit vague here in Arizona. (Though the desert is starting to bloom)

I missed Thursday's post, and just caught up. So I'll just send my good thoughts, and tell you that you'll make it through, strong and sure of yourself. I know what it's like, being alone with kids a lot of the time. It's hard, but it also gives you confidence (which I think you learned last time).

My heart goes out to you...

  15. It's been super windy here this weekend, too. But there are also definite signs of spring, which is nice.

  16. Ugh - isn't March just the WORST month? It's so LONG . . . and COLD . . . and not quite spring yet but you really REALLY want it to be Spring. *sigh*

  19. It's quite spring-y here, as well. We had a picnic on campus, and Zo sucked on a daffodil. I'm sure winter will return for a bit, but it does feel nice while it lasts.

  20. We are not even close to seeing the 'colour' of spring, the earth is frozen solid, and there is another storm coming tonight...
And oddly enough your pic, brought a warm hopeful glow to my heart...
