We now return to our regularly scheduled Reality.

The Sergeant flew to Kuwait yesterday.

And so...the Little Mister and I are on our own again. We're back to trips to the playground, playing with blocks and trains, and long conversations that consist of hi interspersed with the occasional uh-oh.

It's not that I don't like those things. Our "hi" conversations crack me up. It was just really nice to talk to someone who (occasionally) answers in complete sentences.

And so...I'm a bit down today, a bit not myself. I know it'll get better...but today I'm watching old episodes of Buffy and eating Oreos, two things that always make me smile.

Oh, and I'm hugging my baby extra tight.

  2. Oh, Mama. I'm sorry :( I'd be feeling down, too. Lucky for you, you have that beautiful boy to sqeeze, Oreos to munch on and Buffy to make you smile. Good girl for not wallowing but trying to find a way to push through.
    Thinking of you...

  6. Oh, I hear you about the craving for adult conversation. And I still get to see my partner largely daily. (Okay, I'm amused by the "occasionally" answering in complete sentences bit. John can barely manage more than a grunt as a reply before noon. So I just talk for both of us.) I can only imagine how rough it is to know you'll be apart for so long. And not just for the conversation.

Enjoy the Buffy and Oreos. An excellent combination if ever I heard one.

  7. Oh, then we are SOOO going to "The Happiest Place on Earth." You know that I love to break people in and take them there for the first time. I'm leaving today on my big trip of chaos but when I get back on Friday we are making plans to go!

  13. I am so sorry it went so fast. I all too well remember 'those' days- when we had no control over our life, just the military (a please know I am saying this with a smile on my face). Although its only been 4 yrs since my hubby retired it seems like a lifetime ago. Bu

Anyway, my thoughts and prayers are with you. And you have to read the Shack (you posted on my blog that you have it already).....it was phenomenal!

  15. I'm a little choked up for you. I know tomorrow will be better. And you'll get back in the routine and it will be fine, but I know how much I would miss Prince Charming. Hope time flies!

And TOTALLY understand the adult conversation!
